• ✨ **Special Edition Release: Mist of Fallen** ✨

There’s something surreal about holding your own story in your hands, a tangible manifestation of words that were once mere whispers during late-night musings, scrawled across countless notebooks. It’s a feeling that transcends the ordinary, and now—something even more magical has arrived.

I am absolutely thrilled to share with you the *Special Edition of Mist of Fallen*!

This edition is not just a fresh cover; it’s a portal into the world that inspired the very essence of the story.

    🌌 **The Cover**

The design of this special edition envelops you in the darker, celestial themes of *Mist of Fallen*. It features a sword, a symbol of sacrifice and strength, alongside wings that, though weathered, radiate resilience. Shadows swirl through a thick mist, reflecting the complexities of Megana’s journey—her grueling battles, her fractured spirit, and ultimately, her transformative growth.

This cover is not merely visual; it feels as though the very soul of the story has stepped forward to greet you, inviting you to uncover the depths within.

    🎵 **The Music Behind It**

While crafting this edition, music became my constant companion, its melodies and lyrics weaving themselves into the fabric of the narrative. Certain songs resonated deeply, almost as if they were whispers from the story itself, capturing the emotions and gravitas of the characters’ journeys. Notable tracks that significantly influenced this edition include:

    – **“Rival” by Ruelle** – embodying the tension experienced by angels torn between love and duty, a powerful reflection of their internal conflicts.

    – **“Mercy” by Brett Young** – echoing Gabriel’s unspoken prayers, Jeremiah’s tragic descent, and Megana’s agonizing choices, this song captures the weight of sacrifice.

    – **“Wings” by Birdy** – offering a poignant reminder that hope blooms amidst despair; even through the pain of loss, there are still reasons to soar.

    – **“Unsteady” by X Ambassadors** – perfectly mirroring Megana’s tumultuous heart, fractured yet unyielding, courageously fighting against the odds.

These songs are more than mere background tracks—they are intricately woven into the very rhythm of the story itself, enhancing the reader’s emotional journey.

    📖 **The Bonus Chapter**

And here’s the treasure I’ve been eagerly awaiting to unveil: this special edition features a bonus chapter presented from Paskar’s unique point of view.

For the very first time, you will encounter the Fall through the eyes of a Veilwalker, exploring his profound sorrow and his unwavering devotion. You’ll delve into his haunting knowledge of the prophecy that intricately binds Megana’s fate. This fresh perspective reshapes the narrative, revealing hidden doors of understanding that you may not have known existed.

This chapter is a heartfelt love letter to the readers who have yearned to explore more, for those who have asked, “But what about him?” Now, you’ll finally uncover the depths of his experience.

✨ **So here it is: the Special Edition of Mist of Fallen.**

A darker, more authentic reflection of the story you’ve come to love. A hidden soundtrack pulsating through its lines. A bonus chapter that shifts the entire landscape of the tale.

What if the end was merely the beginning of her true purpose? Now, you will witness the answer unfold before your very eyes.

  • The Uphill Climb: Finding a Literary Agent

If you’ve ever searched for a literary agent, you know it’s not just a process—it’s a rollercoaster. Not the fun kind with loops and candy at the end, but the kind that makes your heart drop into your stomach repeatedly.

It all starts with hope. You’ve spent months—sometimes years—pouring your heart into your manuscript. You’ve labored over every sentence, fallen in love with your characters, and rewritten entire chapters because they just didn’t feel right. When you finally decide it’s ready, you send it out like a little paper boat into a vast, stormy ocean.

Then the replies start coming in. Or sometimes, they don’t come at all.

When an agent says “no,” it’s never personal. At least, that’s what you tell yourself. But deep down, it feels personal. Your book isn’t just words on paper; it’s a part of you. Your late nights, early mornings, stolen lunch breaks, moments of doubt, and joy are all embedded within those pages. Each rejection chips away at your confidence, like tiny cracks in glass. You begin to wonder: Am I good enough?

But here’s the thing no one tells you at first: rejection can be a gift. (Yes, it stings to even read that.)

Each time someone says “not for me,” you have two choices. You can close the document, put your manuscript in a metaphorical drawer, and let the dust gather. Or you can use that sting to sharpen your edges. You can take a long, hard look at your story and ask yourself, What can I do better? Maybe it’s tightening your opening pages, sharpening your plot hook, or giving your characters more depth.

Somewhere along the way, you realize it’s not just about getting an agent; it’s about becoming the kind of writer who deserves one.

Finding a literary agent is hard—really hard. But every “no” brings you a step closer to the “yes” you’ve been dreaming of. When that day finally arrives, all those tiny cracks in your confidence will transform into a mosaic that reflects the writer you’ve become—resilient, determined, and better than you ever thought you could be.

So keep going. Send the queries. Collect the rejections. Rewrite until your fingers ache. Because the only true failure in this journey is giving up before the right person discovers your words.

  • Plotting the Next Storm: Behind the Scenes of Mist of Fallen and Book Two

When Mist of Fallen was finally released, I felt a mix of awe, vulnerability, and gratitude. Seeing something you’ve held so close for so long out in the world is surreal. After years of translating, rewriting, and re-editing since 2019, the story that began as a whisper finally found its voice.

But the journey doesn’t end there.

In fact, with Mist of Fallen now breathing on its own, I’ve shifted into a new, equally exciting (and chaotic) phase: plotting Book Two.

    Revisiting the World of

    Mist of Fallen

Book one introduced readers to a shadowed version of Colorado where divine forces walk the Earth, hidden beneath mist and memory. At the heart of it all was Megana, pulled between a past she can’t fully remember and a destiny she never asked for. Her story unfolded through grief, love, betrayal, and an awakening of power.

Writing it in first person meant living through her eyes. Every twist she felt—I did too. So as I begin to map out Book Two, I’m not just continuing her story; I’m expanding the world that shaped her.

The Challenge of Plotting a Sequel

Writing a second book is like walking a tightrope. On one side, I have readers’ expectations, and on the other, my own vision of where the story must go. Book Two has to be bigger—but not bloated. Deeper—but still intimate. And the stakes? They’re higher than ever.

This time, I’m working with multiple POVs (yes—JeremiahGabriel will finally speak for themselves). Each character has secrets, regrets, and loyalties that don’t always align. Their paths are colliding in ways even I didn’t expect during early drafts.

    Themes I’m Exploring

Without giving away too much, Book Two will dive into:

    • The cost of resurrection (both literal and spiritual)
    • What it means to be chosen—and who gets to decide
    • Divine war and human consequence
    • And perhaps most personally… the search for belonging when you no longer recognize yourself

    What’s Next?

Right now, my wall is covered in notes, red string (okay, not literally), timelines, and character arcs. I’ve been drafting chapter outlines, writing from different characters’ perspectives, and discovering how their inner battles fuel the external war looming over them all.

It’s messy. It’s emotional. It’s everything I hoped it would be.

    Thank You for Being Here

Whether you’ve just discovered Mist of Fallen or you’ve been part of this journey since the earliest drafts, thank you. Sharing this world with you means more than I can say. And I promise: Book Two will be worth the wait.

Until then—keep an eye on the mist. You never know what’s hiding just beyond the veil.

  • Juggle the struggle is real

The Juggle Is Real: Life as an Indie Author with a Full-Time Job

Being an indie author is one of the most rewarding—and overwhelming—things I’ve ever done. The passion behind writing a book is fierce, but once the final words are typed, that’s when the real work begins.

Unlike traditional publishing, indie authors wear every hat. We’re not just writers—we’re editors, designers, formatters, marketers, and social media managers all rolled into one. And for many of us, like me, this all happens after hours—after the 9 to 5, after dinner, after life has already drained your energy for the day.

Balancing a full-time job with writing and marketing a book is like living in two different worlds at once. In the daytime, I’m focused on my career and responsibilities. By night (and sometimes during stolen moments at lunch or weekends), I’m brainstorming scenes, creating graphics, writing blurbs, or planning promotional content.

The pressure to constantly show up online is real. Social media thrives on consistency, but real life doesn’t always allow for that. There are days when I feel creatively drained. Days when I wonder if anyone even sees the effort I put in. Days when I just want to write—but I can’t, because I’m stuck scheduling posts or researching hashtags.

The truth is: it’s hard. Really hard. There’s guilt when I’m not productive. There’s burnout from doing too much. And there’s the constant reminder that if I don’t push the book, no one else will.

    But there’s also pride.

Pride in knowing I finished a story I believe in. Pride in learning new skills that I never imagined I’d need. Pride in showing up for a dream that matters deeply to me, even when it means late nights, early mornings, and sacrificed weekends.

Being an indie author with a full-time job is a juggling act—and some days, the balls drop. But it’s also proof of resilience, passion, and dedication.

So if you’re in the same boat, feeling overwhelmed or unseen: you’re not failing. You’re doing something incredible. And every small step forward counts more than you think.

  • ✨ Mist of Fallen is Now Available in Paperback! ✨

I’m beyond excited (and still slightly in disbelief!) to share that my debut novel, Mist of Fallen, is now officially available in paperback! Holding a physical copy of my story—one that has lived in my heart and imagination for so long—feels surreal. This book is more than just pages and ink; it’s a journey of love, loss, power, and impossible choices.

    About the Book:

What if you could see the monsters? What if the angels fell because of you?

Mist of Fallen follows Megana, a seventeen-year-old girl who finds herself at the heart of a war between angels and darkness. Haunted by a mysterious survival, hunted by forces she doesn’t understand, and pulled between two fallen warriors—Gabriel and Jeremiah—Megana must confront not only the evil around her but the storm growing within.

This story blends fantasy, romance, and emotional depth in a tale that explores identity, sacrifice, and the thin line between light and dark.

Why the Paperback Means So Much:

There’s something timeless about a physical book—the way it feels in your hands, the sound of a turning page, the scent of ink and paper. I wrote Mist of Fallen with the hope that it would live on bookshelves and in the hearts of readers. Now, that dream has taken its next step.

Whether you’re discovering this world for the first time or returning for a reread, I hope the paperback edition brings you closer to Megana’s journey.

    Where to Get It:

The paperback is available now on Amazon and KU.

(If you’ve read it already and enjoyed it, a review would mean the world to me 💛)

  • How I Plotted Mist of Fallen: Turning Chaos Into Story

Plotting a novel can feel like standing at the base of a mountain, staring up at the summit, wondering how the hell you’re going to make it to the top. When I started writing Mist of Fallen, I had the idea—the spark—but figuring out how to shape that spark into a full-fledged story was a whole different beast.

If you’re anything like me—a mix of plotter and pantser (yes, I’m a plantser), maybe this will help you navigate that messy middle ground.

Step 1: The Spark of the Idea

For me, Mist of Fallen started with one scene in my head: an angel watching over a girl who doesn’t know he exists. I didn’t know why he was watching or what the stakes were, but that emotional core? That was my starting point. Plotting began with asking why. Why was Gabriel so drawn to Megana? Why was she important? The more I asked, the more the world started to build itself.

    Tip:

Start with a moment, a question, or a feeling that won’t let you go. That’s your compass.

Step 2: Big Picture Planning (The 3-Act Structure)

Once I had the concept, I knew I needed structure. I’m not a fan of rigid outlines, but I love having pillars to guide me. Enter the 3-Act Structure. It looks something like this:

Act 1: Introduce the world and characters (Who is Megana? What is she running from—or toward?) Act 2: The stakes rise (The world unravels. Angels. Darkness. Choices.) Act 3: Everything explodes (Decisions are made. Lines are crossed. No turning back.)

I wrote down major plot points I knew I wanted to hit:

Inciting Incident: The accident that changes Megana’s life. Midpoint Twist: The truth about Gabriel. Climactic Choice: What Megana is willing to sacrifice.

    Tip:

Think of these as anchor points. The journey between them? That’s where the fun (and fear) happens.

Step 3: Character Arcs Before Plot Points

Here’s a secret: I plotted Mist of Fallen through my characters first. Their emotions, their desires, their flaws—that’s what shaped the story. Gabriel’s guilt, Megana’s grief and resilience, Jeremiah’s loyalty—they drove the plot.

    I asked myself:

What does Megana want vs. what does she need? How does Gabriel’s breaking of the rules escalate the conflict? Where does Raymond’s protectiveness help—or hurt—the family?

Plotting through emotional beats made the action feel inevitable.

    Tip:

If you’re stuck, ask yourself what your characters are most afraid of—and then make them face it.

Step 4: The Scene List (Not a Rigid Outline)

I didn’t create a strict outline. Instead, I made a loose scene list. I jotted down key scenes I knew had to happen (in no particular order at first):

Gabriel watching Megana from afar. The car accident. Megana realizing someone is watching her. The world falling apart (literally). The confrontation between Heaven’s rules and Gabriel’s heart.

As I wrote, some scenes shifted or disappeared altogether. And that’s okay.

    Tip:

Think of your plot as a living thing—it can (and should) evolve as you discover more about your story.

Step 5: Filling the Gaps (The “What If” Game)

Whenever I hit a gap between scenes, I’d play the “what if” game:

What if Megana’s dreams aren’t just dreams? What if Gabriel saving her sets off something catastrophic? What if the real threat isn’t the darkness outside—but the rules they’re breaking?

These questions filled in the spaces between the major plot points.

Step 6: Trusting the Process (And Breaking My Own Rules)

There were moments writing Mist of Fallen where I completely veered off my plot. A side character demanded more space. A scene felt wrong. The ending wasn’t what I first imagined.

Plotting gave me the map. But writing? Writing let me explore the uncharted paths.

    Tip:

Don’t be afraid to burn your outline if the story starts pulling you somewhere new. That’s where the magic happens.

    Final Thoughts

Plotting Mist of Fallen wasn’t about perfection—it was about direction. It gave me enough of a roadmap to not get lost, but enough freedom to let the story breathe. If you’re working on your own novel, remember: there’s no “right” way to plot. Only the way that works for you.

If you’re a plotter, pantser, or somewhere in between, I’d love to know—how do you plot your stories? Share your thoughts in the comments!

  • Sneak peek into the Mist of Fallen

    Prologue

    The First Sin

    Gabriel

The world moved at its own steady rhythm—one beat at a time,

predictable and measured, untouched by the chaos of human emotions. At

least, that was what I had believed before her.

Now, my world moved only when she did.

Megana didn’t know I was watching her—not just today, but always.

It was my duty to remain unseen, to observe, to protect. But over time,

watching had become something else entirely. An obsession. A silent prayer

that she would never fall, never stumble into the kind of fate I could not stop.

And yet, I had no right to feel this way. I was an archangel, bound by

the laws of Heaven. Love—true love—was not meant for beings like me. Not

this kind, at least. Not the kind that made my chest tighten when she laughed.

Not the kind that made my fingers itch to reach for her, even knowing I never

    could.

A deep sigh from beside me broke my thoughts.

“Watching her again?” Jeremiah’s voice was like a gust of wind,

familiar and grounding. He materialised at my side, his presence effortlessly

steady, as it had always been through the centuries. His piercing blue eyes

flickered with something between curiosity and disappointment.

“I don’t understand you,” he muttered, dropping onto the bench with

an ease I envied. “This mortal—what is she to you?”

I turned my gaze away from her, willing my expression to remain

neutral. “She’s, my charge. It’s my job.”

Jeremiah scoffed, tilting his head toward the girl who moved

effortlessly through the park, chatting animatedly with her friend. “And yet,no other guardian angel watches their assignment like this. No other

archangel lingers longer than necessary.” His voice softened, his usual

sarcasm fading. “What’s happened to you, Gabriel?”

    The question lingered between us.

I wanted to tell him that I didn’t know. That I hadn’t realized when

duty had blurred into something else, something dangerous.

    But that was a lie.

It had started long ago, long before I admitted it to myself. Megana

had been different from the beginning. Unlike other humans, who prayed in

desperate whispers when they needed guidance, she never once sought divine

intervention. She had faith—not in Heaven, not in celestial beings—but in

herself, in the people around her.

And despite everything, despite knowing the cruelty of the humanity,

    she still smiled.

She was light in a world that had grown dim.

“I don’t expect you to understand,” I said finally, my voice tight.

“You’ve never been assigned to someone like her.”

Jeremiah studied me for a moment, something unreadable flickering

    behind his eyes.

“Just remember who you are, Gabriel.” His voice was

quieter now, more serious. “You were never meant to be part of their world.”

    He was right.

And yet, every time I looked at Megana, I wished that weren’t true.

It happened in the blink of an eye.

Sara, the girl Megana always walked with, darted across the street

without checking for oncoming traffic. It was careless but not unusual—

humans were reckless, and yet they survived.

But this time, something in the air shifted. A whisper of warning, an

unspoken dread curling in my chest. I turned just in time to see the headlights

of an approaching car rounding the corner, moving too fast.

    Instinct took over before thought.

I had seen countless human lives flicker out like candles—sometimes

natural, sometimes cruel. It was never my place to intervene. But Megana…

    She ran.

Without hesitation, she pushed Sara out of the way, her body twisting

mid-motion, her feet barely touching the pavement before the car slammed

    into her.Everything inside me shattered.

She hit the ground hard, the sound of the impact deafening in my ears.

The driver swerved violently, losing control and crashing onto the roadside.

People screamed, rushing to the wreckage, but all I could see was her—

Megana, unmoving, the life in her eyes flickering like a dying ember.

My wings unfurled before I could stop myself, and I descended.

“Gabriel,” Jeremiah’s voice was sharp, filled with alarm. He

appeared beside me, invisible to the mortals but just as present as I was.

    “You can’t be here.”

    “I don’t care,” I ground out.

No one else could hear me. No one else could see me.

Except Megana, as her soul hovered between this world and the next.

Her chest rose in shallow, uneven gasps. Blood pooled beneath her

head, staining the pavement a deep, unforgiving crimson. Her body trembled

as if fighting to hold onto something—onto life itself.

Sara knelt beside her, tears streaking her face, screaming for someone

to do something. The paramedics arrived, their voices urgent, but I already

    knew the truth.

    Her heart was failing.

It was slipping through my fingers like grains of sand.

    And I couldn’t stop it.

“Jeremiah,” I turned to my oldest friend, desperation clawing its way

into my voice. “We have to do something.”

He took a step back, his expression dark. “You know the rules.”

“Damn the rules!” My voice cracked, something raw and unfamiliar

threading through my words. “Please. Please, Jeremiah. At least try.”

Jeremiah looked down at her, his jaw clenched tight. He was torn—I

could see it. He had always followed orders, always obeyed without

    question. But this was different.

    This was me asking.

And for the first time, I saw hesitation in his eyes.

“You don’t understand what you’re asking,” he said, quieter now, but

I could hear the shift in his resolve.

“Yes, I do,” I whispered. “I’m asking you to save her.”

Jeremiah exhaled slowly, then knelt beside her. The ancient language

of angels flowed from his lips, a prayer not meant for human ears. His handshovered over her chest, a golden light forming between his palms.

Megana’s body shuddered as her soul teetered on the edge of

    oblivion.

Then, the light expanded—spreading through her like the first breath

of dawn breaking over the horizon.

    Her heartbeat once.

Then twice. Her breath hitched, and a sharp gasp escaped her lips.

And just like that, she lived. I exhaled a breath I hadn’t realized I was

holding. Relief surged through me, but it was quickly replaced by something

    heavier.

This was a mistake. A beautiful, devastating mistake.

Jeremiah stood, his expression unreadable as he turned to me.

    “It’s

done,” he said, his voice flat.

“But mark my words, Gabriel—this will cost

    us both.”

I knew that. But as Megana’s eyes fluttered open, as her soul settled

back into her body, I realized something even worse than the consequences

    awaiting us in Heaven.

    I didn’t regret it.

    Not even a little.

And that, more than anything, meant I had already fallen

  • Meet the Characters of Mist of Fallen

Welcome to the world of Mist of Fallen—a story woven with danger, destiny, and heartache. At the core of this dark, emotional tale are characters who refuse to let the world define them. Here’s your chance to get to know the main players before you dive into the storm.

    Megana Carter

The Fighter. The Survivor. The Spark.

Seventeen, sharp-tongued, and brave to a fault—Megana never expected her life to turn into a waking nightmare. After sacrificing herself to save her best friend, she finds herself caught between the human world and something far more divine… and dangerous. Haunted by dreams and hunted by shadows, Megana isn’t just trying to survive—she’s searching for truth, power, and maybe, something that feels like peace. Or love.

She’s stubborn, selfless, and stronger than she knows.

    Gabriel

    The Archangel Who Fell.

He wasn’t supposed to care. Watching from above was his duty—protecting Megana, never interfering. But something about her changed everything. Gabriel is a celestial being torn between his sacred oath and forbidden emotions. Loyal, brave, and dangerously compassionate, he broke Heaven’s laws to save her… and now must face what comes next.

With eyes like shadowed starlight and a soul brimming with quiet defiance, he’s more human than he dares to admit.

    Jeremiah

    The Shield. The Silent Storm.

Gabriel’s oldest friend and fellow angel, Jeremiah is the kind of protector you never want to cross. With piercing blue eyes and a presence that fills every space he walks into, he’s fierce, sarcastic, and always ten steps ahead. But loyalty comes at a price—and Jeremiah is starting to wonder if it’s time to start questioning Heaven’s rules.

    Raymond Carter

The Brother. The Anchor. The Warrior in the Making.

Megana’s older brother might look like your typical high school athlete, but behind his green eyes lies a mountain of quiet pain. Protective and pragmatic, Raymond is willing to risk everything to keep his siblings safe—even when the world begins to crumble around them. His anger simmers just beneath the surface, but it’s born from love, loss, and the fear of not being enough.

    Eduard “Eddy” Carted

    The Innocent Heart.

The youngest Galinskaite, Eduard brings a sliver of light into the darkness. He’s too young to understand the world breaking around him, yet wise enough to sense the fear in everyone’s eyes. His presence is a reminder of what Megana and Raymond are fighting for: hope.

    Sara

The Best Friend with a Wild Streak.

Bold, carefree, and full of reckless energy, Sara has always pulled Megana out of her head and into the world. But even she can’t escape the chaos that’s coming. What role will she play when everything starts falling apart?

More characters will emerge from the mist as the story unfolds—some allies, some enemies, and some who blur the line between both.
